Schedule of deeds (1654-1830) in the possession of Sir Mark Wood (the son) as mortgagee of Lord Frederick John Monson, to secure £60,000 and interest expressed in a mortgage dated 28 July 1830, and relating to the manor and bor. of Gatton and several freehold hereditaments in and near Gatton, co. Surrey. Additional schedule of deeds (1836) received by William Frogatt Robson of Tavistock Street, Covent Garden, from Lord Frederick John Monson, 14 Aug. 1839.

Mon., conveyed (with adjoining freehold lands) by William Mark Wood to Charles Lloyd, esq., to secure £12,000 and interest.

Papers relating to the sale of land required by the London & Brighton Railway Co., in p's Gatton, Merstham and Reigate, all in co. Surrey. The papers include 'An Act for making a railway from the London and Croydon Railway to Brighton, with branches to Shoreham, Newhaven, and Lewes', 15 July 1837 (D 1/126), and copy deeds and plan relating to the conveyance by Frederick John [Monson, fifth] baron Monson of Burton, co. Lincs., to the company, 1838 (D 1/128-132). Baron Monson's lands were subject to an 1830 mortgage for £60,000 to William Mark Wood of Pall Mall, co. Mddx, esq., formerly William Mark Lockwood (see D 3/118).
