A collection of Welsh poetry, compiled by one scribe during the mid-thirteenth century, containing verse composed at various times during the period between the eighth and thirteenth centuries.
The volume includes triads (p. 27), religious and vaticinatory poetry, eulogies, elegies and numerous poems relating to the Myrddin Legend.
Part one of the two manuscripts of Llyfr Gwyn Rhydderch, comprising the Four Branches of the Mabinogion; Peredur; Macsen Wledig; Lludd a Llefelus; fragments of Owain a Luned; Geraint ac Enid; and an incomplete version of Kulhwch ac Olwen; and a poem by Llywelyn Moel.
The Romance of Charlemagne written down by [?Gruffudd Ddu] in the mid 14th century; and a collection of poetry of Gruffudd ap yr Ynad Coch, Guto'r Glyn and others compiled in the 15th - 16th centuries.

Versions of Dares Phrygius and Brut y Brenhinedd written by three scribes and dating from the end of the fifteenth century to the early sixteenth century.
Proffwydoliaethau, astroleg a barddoniaeth
Vaticinatory texts in both verse and prose, and texts concerning astrology and medicine, written by a single scribe and dating from around 1456 (p. 83).
A compendium, [late 15th cent. x early 16th cent.], of works on astrology, medicine, sayings, Brut y Saeson, a short chronicle, Lives of Saints David and Gwenffrewi, Bonedd y Saint and other texts. The manuscript was previously ascribed to Gutun Owain (see Daniel Huws, Medieval Welsh Manuscripts (Aberystwyth, 2000), p. 190).
A prose miscellany comprising the Gospel of the Pseudo-Mathew, Transitus Mariae, the Life of St Catherine, the Finding of the Cross and other texts in the hand of Gutun Owain.

The oldest Welsh text of the Laws of Hywel Dda by two hands dating from the mid-13th century.
There is also a contemporary elegy to Llywelyn ap Gruffydd in a later hand, and a series of provebs, also in a later hand.

Pp. 21-112 were written probably before 1484. The manuscript is written in various hands (p. 21 alone containing three different hands): the poems of Dafydd Epynt are all in one hand (see Peniarth MS 60); those of Hywel Cae Llwyd and Hywel Swrdwal in another (see Peniarth MS 54, part ii); those of Rhys Fardd in another hand; etc. Pp. 1-20 contain a peculiarly cramped hand. The poetry on pp. 359-392, 396-419, 422-423, 432-448 is written in bardic script (see Gwenogvryn's observations on this in J. Gwenogvryn Evans, Report on Manuscripts in the Welsh Language, vol. I (London, 1898-1905), 418). P. 257 is rubbed and the readings uncertain in part. The two leaves following p. 284b have been cut out. At least one folio is torn off at p. 448 and the remainder of the poem is inverted.
