C. R. Attlee, House of Commons, London SW1. The Russian proposal as revealed in the broadcast is 'a completely free united Germany under no restraint whatever and able to arm itself to any extent'. The current opposition to the German contribution to Western defence. Does not consider that the insistence on a minimum of discipline within the Labour Party is any threat to the freedom of the individual. 'Surely, the history of the Liberal Party over the past thirty years - even when they were reduced to six Members they were seldom found in the same Lobby - shows the danger of freedom lapsing into silence'. Written in reply to A2/109.

Caradog [ ], Islwyn, Trelogan, Holywell. Congratulates Huw T. Edwards on the publication of Tros y Tresi. The writer re-lived his own childhood when reading the book. The book also reveals much about the Labour Party which was previously unclear to the writer. Thanks, too, for the excellent poetry. Welsh.

Caradog [ ], Islwyn, Trelogan, Treffynnon. After listening to Ronald Waterhouse at Ffynnon-groyw the previous Saturday afternoon, the writer has decided that it is best for him to remain within the Labour Party. Feels greater love for humanity then for Wales. Although he agrees with many Plaid Cymru policies, there are numerous factors which prevent him from joining. Thanks for Huw T. Edwards's kind words, and wishes him well in the election. Welsh.

Caradog Prichard, 2 Cavendish Avenue, St Johns Wood, London NW8. Is preparing a programme on Caernarfonshire for the BBC, and would like to be able to include a word by Huw T. Edwards on unemployment in the county. About three minutes would be sufficient. The BBC would be able to record him wherever he wished. Congratulations on Tros y Tresi. Welsh.

Carbon Copy of a letter, 11 November 1957, from SF to Prince Philip. It was good of the recipient to telephone about the elusive griffin. The show was a great success, thanks to the chairmanship of Huw T. Edwards - 'I expect you have met him. In a land of extraordinary contradictions, he really makes sense'. Hopes to see the recipient soon, perhaps at Aberporth.
