The series consists of an incomplete set of press releases produced by the English Language Section of the Academi between 1978 and 1993. The subjects of the releases range from travel awards for writers to new offices for the Academi.

The series comprises of correspondence with PEN, which the English Language Section joined in 1974, together with reports, minutes and newsletters sent to the English Language Section of the Academi as a member of PEN.

Those elected were Bill Meilen, Gerard Casey, George Ewert Evans, Ioan Williams, Alison Morgan, Walford Davies, Bernice Rubens and Jon Dressel. The file also includes a letter from Roland Mathias giving his views on the nomination process.

Apart from Bernard Knight, the responses of those invited to join the Academi have not been noted in this file.

The series consists of papers relating to grant applications made by the Academi to the Welsh Arts Council, 1987-1989; the South-East Wales Arts Association, 1988-1992; and the Business Sponsorship Incentive Scheme, 1987-1988.
