Event papers: 1981-2

The Playwrights Group held a series of workshops exploring writing for the theatre and were arranged by the English Language Section of the Academi and held between November 1981 and May 1982. Their aim was to allow writers who had had little contact with theatre to gain some knowledge and practical experience. The organiser was Joan Mills and candidates were shortlisted and then interviewed for a limited number of places.

General correspondence: 1992

The file mostly consists of copy letters sent out from the Academi, 1992, regarding various events including the Cardiff Literature Festival and Academi competitions. There are also letters from associate members, competition entrants and other artitsts wishing to advertise their work.

Press releases

The series consists of an incomplete set of press releases produced by the English Language Section of the Academi between 1978 and 1993. The subjects of the releases range from travel awards for writers to new offices for the Academi.

PEN papers

The series comprises of correspondence with PEN, which the English Language Section joined in 1974, together with reports, minutes and newsletters sent to the English Language Section of the Academi as a member of PEN.
