Critical of [James Ebenezer] Bicheno who has been appointed to Commission on Irish poor, 'a perfect Erymanthian.' O'Connell has taken up cause of ejected tenants; critical of Revans. 'It all looks very like a conspiracy, not the less, because the O'Connel[l] papers have now, for the first time, opened their batteries on me.' Hopes recipient will help prevent ruinous measures for Ireland, to be carried, for the sake of temporary popularity.' Has '... after a long struggle negatived the relief of the able bodied from a compulsory fund.' Includes postscript, dated Dec. 18, relating to RC on Irish Poor; his clash with Revans who hopes to 'blow up all the resolutions we have passed.'.
