Lewis E. Jenkins of Aberystwyth,

Original bundle of papers, mainly lists of creditors, letters, telegrammes, writs and receipts, relating to the voluntary liquidation of Lewis E. Jenkins of Market Street, Aberystwyth, linen and woollen draper, who has determined to give up his business due to depression of trade, and is anxious to secure his property for the benefit of his creditors.

Aberystwyth Mutual Freight & Outfit Insurance Co. Ltd,

Account book of the Aberystwyth Mutual Freight & Outfit Insurance Co. Ltd, including the ship's name, the name, profession and residence of the ship's husband, the amount insured, and the cost of the insurance. Spine labelled 'Register', and the front cover labelled 'Aberystwith Mutual Freight & Outfit Insurance Company, Limited'. Eighty two tickets were issued in 1879, [96] in 1880, 81 in 1881, and 45 in 1882. A number of vessels are noted as having been 'lost'. In the front of the volume are printed calls on the insured ships for Oct. 1880, and the first and second calls for 1881.

Williams of Llangatwg Rectory, Crickhowell, and Thomas Barker William of Elm Lodge, Carmarthen, solicitor, trustees of the will of Elizabeth Anne Jones Jones of Pibwrwen in p. Llandyfaelog, co. Carm., widow, deceased (d. 23 Jan. 1900), including many letters to Rev. T. B. Williams relating to Tynllwyn (417a.) in p. Llanbadarn Fawr and access to the Devils Bridge Falls, 1901-1912, and letters and related papers relating to other properties on the estate, including Pantgwyfel in p. Llanilar, Tynyrhos (78a.) an encroachment on the manor of Perfedd in p. Cwmrheidol, both in co. Card., and Penpompren (40a.) and Bryneglwysfach (42a.) in p. Cynwyl Gaeo, co. Carm. A rental of the Elm Lodge estate, July 1880, including the above properties, and leases, 1879-1912.

Volume of ledger accounts, Aug. 1892-c.April 1893, of suppliers to an [Aberystwyth?] grocer, including Messrs Huntley & Palmer of Reading, biscuit manufacturers, the Liverpool North Shore Flour & Rice Mill Co. Ltd, Messrs Schweppes & Co. of Bristol, Messrs Cadburys Bros of Bournville, Birmingham, and Messrs Bryant & May of London, match manufacturers. There are a very few local suppliers, including the Eagle Foundry Co., Aberystwyth, and Messrs R. Roberts & Son of Trefechan, timber merchants.

Llanddewibrefi, freeholder, proved 1854; office copy of the will (dated 1883) of Daniel John Evans of Garth, gent., proved 1884; and correspondence, 1900-1901. Daniel John Evans left his real and personal property in t's Garth, Ystrad, Gorwydd and Gogoean, p. Llanddewibrefi, in trust to his grandson, Daniel William Evans Rowlands.

Original bundle of papers of Miss Mary Jones of 19 Grays Inn Road, Aberystwyth, comprising an authorisation to pay the purchase money for the said house, 1898; grant of a grave space in Aberystwyth cemetery, 1905; receipts for payments of rates, taxes etc., purchase of shares etc., 1904-1930. Original wrapper marked 'Re. Miss Mary Jones 19 Grays Inn Road'.

Edwards, Welsh Flannel Depot, Terrace Road, Aberystwyth, comprising a Commercial Union insurance policy by John Edwards & Co. of Terrace Road, on 3-4 Alfred Place, 1902, and receipts for premiums, 1907-1915; an acknowledgement by George Lloyd to Rev. J. Hugh Edwards of Newtown, that he holds the workshop and premises in Alfred Place, at pleasure, 1904; and Corporation of Aberystwyth receipts for ground rent on 3 Corporation Street, received from the executors of John Edwards, 1907-1915.
