Tanyrallt mine,

Plan and section of Tanyrallt silver lead mine (unsigned; scale 40 fathoms=4⅞ inches). The plan shows the run of no. 1, no. 2 and no. 3 lodes, the cross cut and the adit cross cut, and the location of the shaft and three winzes, while the section shows the engine and drawing shafts, the adit and 12, 22, 32 and 42 fathom levels, and a winze between the adit and the 12 fathom level.

Original bundle of papers, mainly 1888, relating to the sale by James George Frederick Hughes Bonsall of Glanrheidol, esq., to George Hope Verney of Clochfaen, co. Mont., esq., of Tanllwyn (99a.), p. Llangurig, co. Mont., mainly comprising letters, requisitions on title, and draft deeds, 1888. Also includes a copy conveyance of lands (3a.), parcel of Tanllwyn, to the Manchester & Milford Railway Co., 1871; and copy rental of the Glanrheidol estate, Lady Day 1888.

Sale catalogues of (i) the Tregaron town portion of the Sunny Hill estate (two copies), 27 Aug. 1918, (ii) the Tregaron portion of the same estate (4638a.), p. Caron-is-clawdd and t. Prysg and Carfan [p. Llanddewibrefi], 28 Aug. 1918, and (iii) the Strata Florida and Aberystwyth portion of the same estate (4785a.), p's Caron-uwch-Clawdd and Gwnnws and in the town of Aberystwyth, including the Abbey Consols Lead Mine, [p. Caron-uwch-Clawdd], also 28 Aug. 1918; together with (iv) abstract of title (1852-1918) to the estate of Legal & General, being the mortgagees. Some of the sale catalogues contain details of bids and sale prices in pencil. One of the Tregaron town sale catalogues contains a copy abstract of title (1908-1930) of Daniel Lewis Jones to Ardwyn, Station Road, Tregaron, sold by the Nanteos estate in 1919, with covering letter, 1944.

Bundle of summary rentals, giving the landowner, occupier, acreage, and tithe rent-charge for properties in p’s Llanafan, (1844 watermark), Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, 1849, Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn vicarial tithes, 1849, Llangynfelyn, (1843 watermark), Lledrod prebendal tithes, (1843 watermark), and part of the Aberllolwyn estate in p. Llanychaearn, 1897. Also a copy award by John Johnes, assistant tithe commissioner, of the tithes of p. Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn, of £453 11s. 4d. to Sir John Palmer Bruce Chichester, and £181 6s. 7d. to the vicar for the time being, 1844; copy tithe rent charge apportionment for p. Llanilar, 1843 (1844 watermark); copy apportionment and summary for p. Original bundle of succession papers, mainly relating to the administration of the will of John Hughes of Alltlwyd, esq. (d. 20 May 1821), 1821; and probate of the will of John Hughes of Alltlwyd, esq. (d. 3 Nov. 1852). Also includes an abstract of the will of [--] of Scoveston, co, Pemb., esq., leaving the residue of his real estate to his kinsman John Hughes of Alltlwyd, gent., (watermark 1819); and a pedigree of John Hughes’s descent from James Evans (d. c.1773) and Ursula his wife (m. c.1731), [c.1821].

Succession duty papers,

Papers dealing with the succession duty on the estate of the Misses Jones; Mary Jones died in 1913, having been predeceased by Anne Elizabeth Jones (d. 1910). The main beneficiaries of Mary's will were members of the Rimmer family into which Clarissa Angharad, another of Mary's sisters, had married; a list of various Rimmer members is included. Mostly Inland Revenue forms, also letters and miscellaneous.
