Telling her how much they had been enjoying their holiday in Naples; includes also a poem (509a) entitled 'The Modern Presbeis', a parody, signed W. E. G., Lucerne Dec. 20 1888, describing the party's journey from Dover to Switzerland.

Letter from W. E. Gladstone,

Respecting provisions to be made on the marriage of H. W. Gladstone with Maud E. Rendel; it was agreed that, while there was to be no marriage settlement, W. E. Gladstone was to make his son a gift of £20,000 and Rendel was to provide an income of £800 per annum for his daughter.
