A scrap-book compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing poetry in strict and free metres by poets from Caernarfonshire. Among the poets represented in the volume are Gwilym Ddu (o) Arfon (fl. c. 1280-1320), David Jones ('Dewi Fardd'), Trefriw, Hugh Evans ('Hywel Eryri'), Griffith Williams, Penmaenmawr, John (Ioan) Rowland(s), Pentir, William Owen ('Gwilym Ddu Glan Hafren'), [John Roberts] 'Sion Lleyn', Hugh Jones, Pen-y-groes, Llanwnda, Morris Roberts ('Eos Llyfnwy'), Llanllyfni, John Jones ('Ioan Glan Cledr'), Caernarvon, W[illiam] M[orris] Hughes ('Gwawdrydd'), Bangor, [G. Some of the poems are in the hand of the compiler but the majority are in the form of cuttings, largely from the second and third quarters of the nineteenth century, with annotations from printed almanacs and from Yr Eurgrawn Wesleyaidd, Eurgrawn Môn, Goleuad Cymru, Seren Gomer, Y Drysorfa, Yr Haul, Yr Amserau, Yr Herald Cymraeg, Yr Arweinydd, Y Cyfaill Eglwysig, Y Gwyliedydd, etc. The volume is bound uniformly with Cwrtmawr MS 753 and the spine and title-page are lettered 'Gweithiau Beirdd Sir Gaernarfon'.

A volume of cuttings from Welsh and Welsh American newspapers compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'). The titles include 'Barddoniaeth a Beirdd' (Llithiau XVIII, XXI, XXVII, XXVIII, XXXI) by [Dafydd Rhys Williams] 'Index', 'Y Diweddar D. Williams, As' [Castell Deudraeth, Merionethshire], 'Y Diweddar Barch. Morris Williams (Nicander)' (several obituary notices), 'Ieuan Brydydd Hir' (his clerical institutions), 'Y Diweddar Barch. Morris Roberts, Remsen, N.Y.', 'Y Proff. Morris D. Jones, Janesville, Wis.', 'Ben. Thomas Williams, Ysw. Yr Aelod Seneddol Newydd dros Fwrdeisdrefi Caerfyrddin a Llanelli', etc. There are two labels laid on the outer upper cover, the one numbered '15' and the other in the hand of 'Myrddin Fardd' inscribed 'Y diweddar Barch. Morris Roberts, Remsen, Richard Jones y Wern a John Elias. - Hanes dyddorol am danynt, yn agos i'r diwedd.' The volume was originally used by 'Myrddin Fardd' to record material on local history, and on some of the pages on which he has not mounted his cuttings there are transcripts of memorial and other inscriptions from Penmorfa [Parish] Church and notes on John Williams, Llecheiddior.

Evans ('Cybi'), Llangybi, Chwilog, 1922 (1), John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), Chwilog, 1921 (1), W. A. Lewis, Liverpool, 1921 (1), W. H. Roberts ('Iseifion'), Fourcrosses, Chwilog, 1921 (3 and one undated), and H. J. Trysorfa yr Awen ...,

A volume written almost entirely in the autograph of John Roberts ('Siôn Lleyn'; 1749-1817) containing poetry largely of his own composition, with some items by other poets. The volume is in two sections and there is a list of contents at the beginning covering pp. 1-145 in the first section. The wording on the title-page is 'Trysorfa yr Awen sef Casgliad o Ganiadau, Sion Lleyn, 1787,' but some of the items are of later date. The other poets represented are David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu o'r Eryri'), Robert Prich[ar]d (Robert Prichiard Sion,'Robin'r Aber'), T[h]om[a]s Edward[s] Nant, D. Edward, Lewis Morys, John Hughes ('pandy bach pentre ucha yn Lleyn'), Richard Powel, Evan Owens, Glan-yllynnay (Llanystumdwy), MrEfan Efans ('Bardd hir') [Ieuan Brydydd Hir], Evan Rich[ar]d (Bryncroes), [David Jones] Dafydd Sion Pierce ('Dafydd Brydydd hir'), Dafydd ap Sion, Owen Griffith, Hugh Lloed [sic] Cynfal, Goronwy Owen(s) ('Goronwy Ddu o Fôn'), Edmund Prys and Griffith Philip. One or two items (p. 2 in the first section and pp. 142-5 at the end of the volume) appear to be in the autograph of John Thomas ('Siôn Wyn o Eifion'). One 'cywydd' in the volume (p. 118 in the first section) is headed 'Annerch Ieuan Bryncroes i Sion Lleyn wedi dyfod i ymweled a mi i Chappel Rhyd-y-Clafrdy pryd yr oeddwn yno yn cadw ysgol y fln 1791 y mis Medi' . The volume contains some notes in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), press cuttings and also a copy (printed) of Marwnad, neu Goffadwriaeth y Brawd Robert Roberts, o Sir Gaernarfon : yr hwn a ymadawodd â'r Byd hwn Tachwedd 28, 1802. A notebook designated 'Copy No. 2' containing brief accounts of Nefyn and Tre'r Ceiri, with notes on Capel Odo, Bettws, Cappel [sic] Angelog, Eglwys Fair and Capel Ergan, etc. At the reverse end is a record of the sermon texts of various preachers at Tremadog chapel, 1809-37 ('Coflyfr o'r Testynau yn Nghapel Tremadog' - the exact dates are not given, only the year), followed by items of poetry including 'Awdl ar Brydferthwch' by [John Edwards] 'Eos Glan Twrch' and 'Awdl ar ddyfodiad teulu Tudur i Orsedd Prydain' by 'Owain Cyfeiliog, Bryn yr Awen, Gorphenaf 15, 1821'. The hand is probably that of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') throughout.

An exercise-book marked on the first page 'Copy No. 16' containing transcripts probably by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') of poetry by Evan Pritchard ('Ieuan Lleyn'; 1769-1832), with one or two items by John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'), W[illia]m T[h]omas [?1790-1861] and William Williams. The final item ('Cywydd St. Cowrda' by [Hywel Rheinallt]) has no name appended to it and is incomplete. The poems appear to have been transcribed in separate sections and put together later.

An exercise-book uniform with the previous manuscript (Cwrtmawr MS 566B) containing an essay (29 pp.) on 'Cyfeillgarwch' ['Friendship'] subscribed 'Ioan Aurenau', followed by press cuttings on the same subject [? in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd')].
