Roger B: Clough, Periglor Corwen: Parchwr a Choleddwr- y [sic] Iaith Gymraeg a'i Barddoniaeth' containing 'Englynion i'r Gell Gymmysg a'i Pherchenog' by Robt. Davies, Nantglyn, Y Parch. Roger B. Clough, Morgan Davies, (?) Nannau, Peter Lloyd, Gwnodl, Thomas Edwards, Corwen and Thomas Jones, Corwen; a series of 182 'Pennillion' [i.e. 'Hen Benillion']; a few 'Beddargraffiadau' and 'englynion' or other items of verse, some dated, by various poets including the following: Robert Davies, Nantglyn, Lewis Morris, Edward Evans, Gwyddelwern, Hugh Moris, Griffith James, John Roberts, Hersedd, Morus ap Robert o'r Bala, [John Jones] 'Ioan Tegid', Y Parchedig Walter Davies, Y Parchedig Roger B. A composite volume containing pedigrees in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas (Eben Fardd; 1802-1863). There are two main sections, both indexed: (A) 'Llyfr Achau amryw Deuluoedd yn Neheubarth a Gwynedd. Adysgrifiwyd genyf fi Ebenezer Thomas 1843'; (B) 'Several of the Carnarfonshire Pedigrees with some others. Copied by Ebenezer Thomas from accredited Authorities 1846', with some later additions by 'Eben Fardd' and one or two loose papers, not all in his hand. Inserted between pp. 74 and 75 in the first section are verses 'On the proposed Restoration of Clynnog Church by the "Archeological Association", 1847 ...' by 'Ebenezer Thomas, Bard; Clynnog Vawr'. At the end of the volume preceding some blank leaves are seven folios, the first of which is headed 'A Next of Kin Investigation' (concerning Erasmus Lloyd). These contain a pedigree of the descendants of Allan Lloyd of Freystrop, Pembrokeshire, exhibited by (?)Erasmus Thomas, Penygelli near Carnarvon and copied by E[benezer Thomas], 29 May 1843, at the Crown & Anchor, Carnarvon, genealogical notes concerning the Lloyds of Penamser, [Ynyscynhaearn], extracts relating to legal actions, 1843, involving the Tremadoc Estate, 'The Family Register of Ebenezer Thomas of Clynnog', lines entitled 'On the Death of my Mother' composed by Ebenezer Thomas 'after his beloved mother who died March 12: 1821', and a pedigree chart, with notes, showing the descent of Ebenezer Thomas through his maternal grandmother from the Lloyds of Penamser. The volume has been annotated here and there by John Jones (Myrddin Fardd).

A miscellaneous volume largely in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd'). The contents include items of poetry by Eben Fardd, pedigrees (one outlining the descent of Thomas Jerman Jones, 'my Pupil 1859'), two sketches ('The Cwmgwara Plantation' and 'my Birthplace'), a list of poetical compositions by Eben Fardd, 1819-39 (damaged), 'Analysis of Farmed Tenements in the Parish of Clynnog', notes on place names in the parish of Clynnog, a sketch map entitled 'A rough Delineation of the Parish of Clynnog fawr, showing very nearly the boundaries of its ancient 4 Villes' and another sketch map showing the Llanaelhaearn - Llangybi area, 'Annerchiad i Eben Vardd, ar Farwolaeth ei Anwyl Briod' by [Robert Hughes] 'Robyn Wyn' and 'englynion' entitled 'Annerchiad i Ebenezer Thomas' by Griffith Roberts, notes of a sermon by the Reverend W[illia]m Roberts, 1853, accounts relating to Cwm & Monachdy Manganese, 1841-2, and an early composition by Eben Fardd entitled 'Dyrnodiau ar bedair cadwyn ar hugain sy'n dal Meddyliau Beirdd Cymru yn gaeth yn Ngharchardy Cerdd Dafod'. Then follows a notebook labelled 'The Aberffraw Royal Eisteddfod MDCCCLIX [sic, for 1849 (MDCCCXLIX)]. The Judges' Controversy &c.,' originally containing outlines of one or two legal documents and a copy of a stamp bond, 1848, and subsequently used to contain press cuttings, etc. relating to the controversy which followed the adjudication of the poetical compositions at the Aberffraw Eisteddfod. There are also some transcripts by Eben Fardd and a holograph letter, 21 January 1850, from [John Jones] 'Talhaiarn', London to Eben Fardd. Preceding the blank pages at the end of the volume are some miscellaneous press cuttings and one or two items in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd '). Some of the material, including an advertisement for a literary meeting at Clynnog Fawr, 1859, has been pasted on to the pages.

A small notebook containing hymn stanzas, verses on 'Y pla yn y flwyddyn 1849', lines of verse by W.B. 'sef William Bifan y Gadlys Plwyf Llanwnda' and Hugh Jones, ['Gwyndaf Ieuanc'] Penygroes, Llanwnda, and 'englynion' by [David Davies] 'Tremlyn', one to Evan Jones, Moria, 1890. At the reverse end are notes in the autograph of John Jones ['Myrddin Fardd'] headed 'Hen Ddywediadau - Gwerin-eiriau', with some press cuttings.

A composite volume mainly in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd') containing the names of some Caernarvonshire sheriffs arranged under houses in Llŷn and Eifionydd ('Y Tylwythau o ba rai y penodwyd Siryddion Sir Gaernarfon o Leyn ac Eifionydd'), pedigrees of various Llŷn families (Rhiw, Cefnamwlch, Saethon, Trygarn, Cefnllanfair and Madryn), notes on heraldry ('Arfau Bonedd'), more pedigrees (Nanhoron, Saethon, with a leaf from an older manuscript concerning Saython [sic]), short extracts from Caernarvonshire pedigrees concerning clergymen, etc., 'Traethawd byr, y'nghyd âg adfyfyriadau, ar Ach Iesu Grist .... wedi ei gyfieithu o Ffrangaeg Abb Giraudeau, a chwanegu atto, gan y Parchedig Dr. A. Clarke; a'i droi i'r Gymraeg gan T. Roberts' (printed extract incomplete), 'Arfau Bonedd' (Llŷn families), and a transcript of 'The Pedigree and Genealogy of the Ancient and Worshipfull Family of Jones of Llwyn Onn in the Parish of Wrexham and County of Denbigh collected out of the Books of Owen Salusbury of Rug Esqr. and other Authentick Genealogists by John Salusbury De Erbistock Anno Domini 1675'. Loose in the volume are a letter, ?1903, from the Reverend Evan Evans, Llansadwrn Rectory, Anglesey to 'Myrddin [Fardd'] (the name of a subscriber for the addressee's book, genealogical queries), and holograph verses by [Ebenezer Thomas] 'Eben Fardd' beginning 'Fenywod hawddgar! dowch o'n plaid'. The first section of the manuscript is marked 'Copy No 30'.

Two notebooks (pasted together) of the Reverend John Lloyd Richards (1790-1854), vicar of Llanwddyn containing 'Subjects for [weekly] themes given by Mr Ainger for 1821', '...[L]ines ... set up in a neat frame in the room at the Pavilion by the falls of the Clyde in Scotland', 1817; verses by R. Davies entitled 'I Bedwar Rhan y Flwyddyn'; prose texts entitled 'The Number Seven', 'English Language' and 'Esau and Jacob'; verses entitled 'Happiness' by the present Bp. of Calcutta. Dr. Heber'; personal accounts, 1821-31 (expenses at St Bees College and at Nun Monkton, payments to hired servants, receipts of rent etc.); etc. The scribe's sister, Mary Richards, during the period 1870-3 has used blank spaces to record copious memoranda, anecdotes and transcripts of verse and family letters.

A notebook of William Davies, Froodvale (Ffrwdfâl), bound in brown paper and inscribed 'W. Davies, Ph. D. April 12, 1846'. It contains extracts from expositary notes on scripture and notes of sermons, 1846-9 and undated, preached at Park[-y-rhos], Crug[-y-bar], Esger[dawe] and Rhydybont Congregational churches and at farmhouses called Penrhiwe and Tynypyllau in the Cynwyl Gaeo area, Carmarthenshire; poetry in Welsh and English, 1847 and undated, titles which include: 'To Rev. D[avid] E[vans, rector of] Kilgerran', 'On the Marriage of Rev. M. Jones R[ural] Dean', and 'To Tegid' [i.e. John Jones ('Ioan Tegid')], etc.; a few particulars of 'Pubs', i.e. preaching publications, mainly in Pembrokeshire, June-July 1847; and memoranda of curricula at Brecon [Independent] and Carm[arthen Presbyterian] Colleges 1846, and of book titles, of personal addresses, etc.

A composite manuscript in the hand of D. Silvan Evans containing 'Penillion', numbered 83-93, being a continuation of the series ending on page 111 of Ysten Sioned (Aberystwyth, 1882), and inscribed 'sent off to 89 (inclusive) Dec. 4, 1883' (no. 93 taken from the Oswestry Advertizer, 29 November 1882), together with one additional unnumbered stanza ('The two last line [sic] by D. S. E.'); some Welsh dictionary material, in the form of 'cywydd' couplets and other quotations, illustrating the use of words beginning mainly with the letter C ; and transcripts of free metre poetry by Dafydd o'r Nant and Syr Huw Dafydd ('O Gelli Gaer').
