Miscellaneous photos - anonymous portraits, photos of works by other artists including David Carpanini, David Griffiths, Ivor Roberts-Jones as well as items in cathedrals, abbeys and galleries.etc. 73-107; 136-155 are unused postcards, mainly of other artists artworks.

Across the Straits

14 b&w photos used in the publication 'Across the Straits' (Gerald Duckworth & Company, 1973) by Kyffin Williams. Most of the photographs are portraits of family members, either reproduced from artworks or from photographs. Includes a number of duplicates.

Owen Richard Inglis Williams

116 personal photographs in the form of portraits of, and photographs by Richard, the elder brother of JKW (4684/1-12). Many of these are snapshots from the Middle East taken whilst on National Service (4684/13-108) - nos. 22-28 were in an envelope marked 'Fayid'. Also included is Jesus College Cricket XI, 1937. Nos. 117-124 are modern prints of views in Athens produced at NLW from negatives believed to be by ORI Williams.

Family snapshots & portraits

135 personal photographs (121 b&w) in the form of loose C20th and C19th photographs of family and friends of JKW. Many are unidentified.

C19th Family Album

Personal photographs in the form of a C19th photo album containing photographs (20 cabinet cards, 166 cartes de visite, 5 smaller images) of JKW’s ancestors and family members. Included are members of the Ramsay & Williams families.This album appears to have descended from the Tre-ffos side of KWs family. It is evident that at some point some photographs have been removed and placed back in the incorrect place. Therefore all annotations in this album should be treated with a degree of caution.

Family Photographs

This includes a Victorian carte de visite album, numerous loose early twentieth century photographs of family and friends of Kyffin Williams; photographs taken by Richard Inglis Williams whilst serving in the RAF in Egypt; and photographs prepared for KW's first book 'Across the Straits'.

Artworks 7

Two magnetic albums each containing reproductions of KW's works. Most are cut from exhibition flyers/catalogues and other publications. Very few are actual photographs. They are overwhelmingly of his better known artworks. There is a certain amount of duplication between the two albums.

Album bound in black and with black pages containing 27 photographs / reproductions of works by Kyffin Williams. Also four photos of him in his studio ca.1965.

Artworks 5

Album containing 5 photographs of early works by Kyffin Williams. Three are dated in pencil on the album page 1943, 1944, 1946. Two are undated. Many others have been removed at some point prior to arrival at NLW and may be elsewhere in the collection. Two of the artworks are landscapes, one a study of a horse and two are portraits including that of Gwilym Owen from 1944.

An unframed watercolour of a sunset over the sea with a chain of hills visible on the horizon. Composition is very similar to 'Sun Over the Bay, Llanddwyn' which is reproduced in 'The Land & The Sea' (Gomer, 1998).

[Rough Sea, Trearddur, North Wales]

[Sea at Aberffraw]

A rectangular framed watercolour of a rocky coastline, the coastline being on the left of the picture.The bottom right hand corner includes a slip of paper on which the accession number has been written.
