C19th Family Album

Personal photographs in the form of a C19th photo album containing photographs (20 cabinet cards, 166 cartes de visite, 5 smaller images) of JKW’s ancestors and family members. Included are members of the Ramsay & Williams families. This album appears to have descended from the Tre-ffos side of KWs family. It is evident that at some point some photographs have been removed and placed back in the incorrect place. Therefore all annotations in this album should be treated with a degree of caution.

[Caernarfon Bay]

A square canvas with a grassy knoll in the centre foreground beyond which can be seen a chain of mountains across a calm grey sea.

[Calm Sea]

A framed view predominantly of a pastel blue sky. A narrow strip of sea is visible beyond the gently undulating land in the foreground. The horizon is delineated by a bank of light pink clouds. The painting has been photographed on an easel.

[Capel Bethel, Tir Halen]

Gable end and main entrance of Bethel chapel, Tir Halen - a small brick built chapel set in scrubland. Slide 4689/181 is a variant of this.
