[Lago Fagnano II]

On pages 190-191 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) KW recalls sketching on the shore of Lake Fagnano, the most southerly lake in the world. Similar to slide 4690/240.

[Craggy Mountain Peaks, Tierra del Fuego]

A mountain wreathed in clouds with four distinct peaks giving the summit a serrated appearance. On pages 190-191 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) KW recalls sketching on the shore of Lake Fagnano, the most southerly lake in the world. This photograph probably dates from that expedition.

[Tegai Roberts]

Tegai Roberts standing in the sunshine in front of a house. See pages 150-152 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) for a description of Tegai Roberts. This is one of a small number of photographs taken by KW on his return to Gaiman following his visit to Tierra del Fuego.

[Coleg Camwy, Gaiman]

The exterior of a brick built building built on a corner plot. This was the old intermediate school originally founded in 1906. Welsh, English and Spanish were taught at the school until its closure in 1951. Under the leadership of Luned Gonzalez, the school was reopened in 1963, and Welsh has been part of the curriculum to this day.

[Gauchos roping a steer]

In the distance three gauchos are attempting to rope a steer whilst a dog watches on. Slides 4690/268-277 are all of the same event.

[Estancia]

An oblique view of the front of a large brick built Estancia with manicured lawns to the front. his appears to be the same property as in 4690/280, exact location unknown.

[Wooden jetty, Bariloche VI]

A decaying wooden jetty jutting out into the lake at Bariloche. In the distance the Andes are visible. One of a series of views by KW of a decaying wooden jetty.
