[Chapel & Slate tips]

A small slate-cled chapel on the edge of slate tips on the side of a valley. The other side of the valley shows the area to be an upland one.

A Chilean Fire Tree (Embothrium coccineum) in Los Alerces National Park. The waterfall visible in the top right is that in photos 4690/195-198. Slide 4690/213 is a close up of the same tree.

[Christmas day barbecue]

Guests eating outdoors at a barbecue. This would appear to be the barbecue (or essado) mentioned by KW on p 182 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991). This took place at the residence of Don Diego Neill, Intendente of Los Alerces National Park on Christmas Day 1968.

[Church, with summit beyond]

A clearing containing a small church of mid-European appearance with a snow flecked mountain top in the distance. The summit of the mountain appears to be a volcanic plug. The same mountain peak is to be seen in slide 4690/172.

[Chwilio am ddefaid]

Two hill farmers and their dogs pick their way down a snow covered slope looking for sheep. The painting has been photographed on an easel with a Kodak Colour Control Patch visible in the bottom of the frame.

[Cliff showing polygonal basalt columns]

A steep cliff showing columnar basaltic jointing. These are believed to be the basalt columns in Los Alerces National Park visited by KW on Christmas eve 1968 - see 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) page 181.
