[Pink & white hollyhocks]

Pink and white hollyhocks in flower. On page 155 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) KW talks of his stay at the hotel owned by Senor Emilo Bezuanartea in Puerto Madryn. He mentions 'a garden of roses and hollyhocks' at the hotel. This photograph was probably taken there. Very similar to slide 4690/46.

[Doorway leading to a garden]

Looking through a doorway into a sunny garden, similar to 4690/50 but less underexposed.

A light coloured bird in the centre of the frame photographed against a bright blue sky. The bird is too far away from the camera to be identified.

[Southern Lapwing & car]

A Southern Lapwing (Vanellus chilensis) flying away from the camera and framed a against a bright blue sky. A small white car is visible in the bottom right of the photo. The car may well be the 'small white car' belonging to Glyn Ceiriog Hughes who acted as guide to KW for much of his stay in Dyffryn Camwy.
