[Well dressed elderly man]

A well dressed man standing on a dirt track.The same man is the subject of 4689/151 & 4689/152. It could possibly be Lias Garmon Owens, mentioned on page 145 of 'A Wider Sky - "On the dirt road at Lle Cul I drew Lias Garmon Owens. The wind ruffled his white hair and so distracted me..."

[Farmer]

A farmer in a faded blue shirt and flat cap holding a hoe. He has been photographed in evening light with rows of potatoes behind him.

[A farmer holding a parrot]

A farmer holding a Patagonian conure (Cyanoliseus patagonus) by it's right wing. The farmer is holding a stick in his right hand on which the bird is perched. This may be the incident mentioned on page 148 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer1991). See also slide 4689/160.

[Hillside & shrub]

A hillside runs from top right to bottom left of the slide. In the centre of the frame is a small shrub.

A woman and small boy pose for the camera outside their house in Trelew. The house features in slide 4689/172.

[Footbridge & chicken, Trelew]

In the foreground a piece of timber makes a crude bridge across an irrigation ditch. The eye is led along a track to where, in the middle distance, a chicken mills round a patch of bare ground.

[Top of Nant Ffrancon]

A view of a steep, glacial, valley side taken from the valley floor. Stone walls and a solitary building give a sense of scale.

[Landscape, probably near Caernarfon]

A view across a landscape characterised by a patchwork of small fields seperated by stone walls. The sea is visible in the distance. Possibly taken from the hills between Caernarfon & Bangor and looking over the Menai towards Niwbwrch, the sands visible as a long low spit.

[Sunset & cottage]

Evening sun seen through scattered, ragged clouds. A small cottage and a stream are barely discernible in the bottom left hand corner.
