Will. Vaughan, Lanelay near Cardi[ff], No. 47 Marine Para[de], Brighton, to Mr Taliesin Williams, Academy, Merthirtidvill. 'Favoured by William Meyrick, ? esq.'. The addressee's good father promised him no alien should translate into native Welsh the Family Edicts of Lanelay. That he fears will never be and they must submit to a distant dialect. Now he asks not translation but transmutation ?into the Bardic character of the following words and sentences, etc.

On the dorse is a draft of a letter from Iolo Morganwg, Trefflemin, 6 May 1811, to ...--, sending him a few of his Psalms, at the request of Mr Rogers. Sends his regards to Dafydd Ionawr.

Immaterial to which to address it, for he considers the three of them as one and Mr Edwd Jones as another. The Leverian Catalogue. The MS of Brut y Brenhinoedd which Mr O. Jones gave him is not a copy from Llyfr Coch. On the dorse in another hand is the following note: 'Mr E. Williams is desir'd to call on Monday 1/2 after ten, at No. 42 Carey Street near Lincoln's Inn'.

He concludes the addressee's daughter is recovering and that he also will be here (at Tenby) in a day or two. He now goes to Pembroke - Haverfordwest - St Davids - Fishguard, where he expects either to see the addressee or to hear from him if they do not accidentally meet in the meantime.
