States that Mr Protheroe called on Ambrose Wyld to solicit his vote for Mr Hall, that Wyld told them to pay their debts first, alluding to a demand he had upon the bor. of Newport which had been disallowed by them, and therefore he would not promise them his vote. The following day Wyld received a memorandum from Prothroe promising to pay the debt. Alleges also that Prothroe promised to hire two labourers if they would vote for Hall.
