A copy of an enclosed writ was to be served on Mr Rees Price of 'your' town. Damaged.
W[illiam] Jones, Carmarthen [for Mr [Herbert] Lloyd],
The bearer Mrs Hannah Jones is entitled to an estate in recipients neighbourhood by virtue of a settlement; Mr Herbert Lloyd has advised her to take possession and to compel the tenants to attorn; Mr Lloyd begs recipient to give her his assistance if she should have occasion to consult him.
Enclosed was the s[ub]p[oen]a which recipient desired.
Mr Herb[er]t Lloyd will pay the money if an execution should come into recipient's hands against Tho[ma]s Jeptha. P.S. Mr Tho[ma]s Lewis is the attorney for Joseph Richards.
Writer was at dinner at the Lamb in Landovery last fair in company with Mr Bishop and Mr Rowley; one Mr Morgans, shopkeeper, Llangadock, consulted them about a bank bill of five guineas of Bath and Wells given to Tho[ma]s Beynon.
Prefixed is a copy of the notice with which writer and his neighbour Mr Peter Du Buisson have been served, relating to the intention of Thomas Williams, gent., to get the order of Quarter Sessions to bring an information against Edward Price Lloyd, esq., for crimes and misdeameanours committed by him as justice of the peace, quashed; writer is willing to stand or fall by the decision of his brother magistrates and of recipient.
Writer requests recipient to send him the notes in the bankruptcy of Smith and Curre.
Enclosed was a stamped agreement.
Writer's father had offered to give the old people of Caye Newid £10 a year during the lease, but they wanted a further sum for the son and daughter; recipient is requested to endeavour to get them out of possession by Michaelmas and to bring an action for the repairs; the people to whom they have sold the hay are afraid to cut it; writer's love to all recipient's family and compliments to Miss Price.

A head servant with writer when Mr Sylv[anus] Lloyd and he gravelled the roads opposite their lands is the most proper parson to attend to satisfy the trustees about the Rev[eren]d Mr Lloyd's bill; writer is very unwell; the carts employed by the Trust have torn up the best spot on his farm; with respectful compliments to recipient and family.

Writer had the misfortune to have some dealing with Thomas of the Graig near Llandovery, a tenant of recipients, who is requested to tell him to call upon Mr Williams of Aberddionow by Builth. Damaged.
Writer has sent his award in the cause of Hopkin v. Thomas, which was not in favour of recipient's client.
Enclosed was a bill of 'this' bank for £91.17.6, being the amount of the moiety of the sums set down in an appended list of gentlemen [concerning the Carmarthenshire canal].
Recipient has informed writer that Baxter has laid claim to his house, although writer has only assigned it for the benefit of his creditors; writer had been arrested by Mr Williams of Lloynyberllan at the suit of David Price of forest; Baxter then advised writer to go out of the way, and to give him a letter of attorney to collect what was due, and that he would settle everything with writer's creditors; writer went for London immediately, and Baxter, an infernal villain, followed him and persuaded him to a conveyance of his house in trust for his creditors; writer has found that his house was not sold by the Commissioners, and he desires recipient to make the most of it for the benefit of his creditors; when his affairs are finally settled writer desires a certificate signed by his creditors.
Writer has been offered £20 for the Old Bear since he wrote to Edward John's nephew; writer has been very ill and has no hopes of recovery. Damaged. Note: Letters from Richard Jones Llwyd appear also under Richard Jones, his former name.

Writer was declared a bankrupt in the year '78 and surrendered himself at guild hall; as nothing further has been done, he desires recipient to take his affair in hand and dispose of his house at Landovery for the benefit of his creditors; writer was lately obliged to relinquish his business; the title deeds are with the mortgagee Edward John of Rhandir isha; writer desires notice to be given to his creditors in the Hereford and Gloucester papers and at Landovery, Lansawel, Lanworda, Mothve and Kilycum; writer left all particulars of what was due to him in the country with his assignees, who are both dead; it was writer's misfortune to be 'Perswaded By that infernal man Baxter'; writer desires a line from recipient to be left at Mr Harris, Grocer, No.152 Oxford Street, London.
Writer will assign his right to his house at Landovery for £40.0.0, which should be sent up to London by Mr Tho[ma]s Jones, late of Wernvelen.
