Badminton (Group 2) deeds and documents

Arranged into documents relating to co. Brec., 1550-1932; documents relating to co. Glam., [early 13 cent.]-1948; documents relating to co. Mon., [c.1283]-1932; and documents relating to Gloucestershire, other counties in England, and miscellanea, [?1st half 13 cent.]-1927. 1961 Deposit. Items numbered 1-14878.

A number of items have been extracted from Group 2 since it was originally numbered and catalogued:

Rentals

The rentals are arranged into four series: first series, c.1550-1740; main series, 1760-1933; draft rentals, 1818-1874, and tithe rentals, 1818. Rentals for 1662-1665 and 1742-1759 are with the rentals of the Badminton Welsh estate at BM1. Some of the rentals were removed from Badminton Group II; previous reference numbers are given where appropriate.

Rentals: first series

Rentals of the co. Brec. estate, some of which, however, only relate to a portion of the estate. There are substantial gaps in this series which can, to some extent be supplemented by consulting the rentals in BM1.

Breconshire estate

Arranged into rentals, [c.1550]-1933 (BBA), rent arrears, 1732-1759 (BBC), stewards' account books, 1815-1858 (BBE), draft ledgers, 1812-1814 (BBF), land tax accounts, 1813-1831 (BBH), accounts, 1791-1808 (BBM), registers of leases, 1683-1847 (BBP), indexes of leases, [?mid 1740s]-1760 (BBQ), abstracts and copies of leases, conveyances etc., 1662-1893 (BBR), and registers of tenancy agreements, 1876-1911 (BBS).
