Rentals, main series,

This is the main series of annual rentals for the Monmouthshire estate. The rentals also include details of additional or casual income from other sources such as timber, quarries and tithes. The first appearance of such sources are noted, together with other relevant dates. Income from the sale of timber and wood first appears in 1760 and continues without gaps to the end of the series. Income from stone quarries first appears in 1761 and continues with gaps until 1921. Income from waifs and strays also first appears in 1761 and continues with gaps until the end of the series. Income from tunnage and anchorage appears in 1761 only. Income from turnpike securities first appears in 1762 and continues with gaps until 1839. Income from port fees also first appears in 1762 and continues with gaps until 1868. Income from tithes first appears in 1765 and continues without gaps. Income from trespasses in woods first appears in 1791 and continues without gaps until 1795. Income from a clay pit farm appears in 1791 only. Income from the Monmouth canal first appears in 1793 and continues without gaps until 1892. Income from prisage and butlerage of wine appears in 1802 and 1828 only. Income from a sundry railway account first appears in 1811 and continues with gaps until 1887. Income from the account of the Duchy of Lancaster first appears in 1826 and continues without gaps until 1832. Income from Lady Mill machinery appears in 1890 only. Income from shooting tenants first appears in 1898 and continues without gaps until 1902. Income for the account of the livehouse of Parlington appears in 1898 and 1899 only. Income from Troy gardens also first appears in 1898. Income from material sold from the tray yard appears in 1901 and 1902 only. Income from the Severn and Wye foreshore royalties appears in 1904 and continues until the end of the series.
