The diary, 1839-1841, of Sarah Pahud (née Walker), daughter of a Dolgellau family and wife of Henri Pahud, a Swiss born Paris businessman. The diary is written in English and French.
Pahud describes her honeymoon tour with her husband through France (English, pp. 1-8), Italy (French, pp. 8-30), Switzerland (French, pp. 31-46) and Germany (French, pp. 46-51), April-June 1839; a journey from Paris to Manchester via Dover and London, October 1839 (French, pp. 52-56); and a visit to her family in Dolgellau, travelling via Paris, London and Chester and returning via Birmingham and London, June-September 1841 (English, pp. 56-96). She also visits friends in Barmouth (pp. 75-79) and Ruthin (pp. 80-87) and describes the consecration service of St David's Chapel, Denbigh, 27 August 1841 (pp. 84-85). There are references to Frédéric Chopin and George Sand, with an eyewitness account of Chopin's perceived state of health, 3 May 1839 (pp. 7-8). There are also a few further miscellaneous memoranda, [1858] (ff. 114, 184).

Diary of Raymond Garlick for the year 1991, with one week to a view, giving an account of his daily life, interests, work and comments on the news (ff. 8 verso-60 verso).
The volume includes references to Jon Dressel (ff. 11 verso-54 passim), R. S. Thomas (ff. 15 verso, 16 verso, 18, 19 verso, 20 verso, 33 verso, 59), Tony Conran (f. 18 verso), Daniel Huws (ff. 23 verso, 25), Gareth Wardell (f. 29 verso), Roland Mathias (ff. 31 verso, 32 verso, 47 verso, 53) and the Dock Leaves Group (f. 32 verso). It also describes a visit to Amsterdam, Netherlands, 12-16 April (ff. 23 recto-verso) and a cruise, 3-18 September, of the Eastern Mediterranean, calling at various locations in Greece, Turkey and Italy (ff. 43 verso-45 verso).

Italian tour journal

An incomplete journal describing part of a tour of Italy, 12 October-9 December [1822] (watermark 1813); the writer is unknown but does not appear to be Thomas Prior.
The journal begins in Fiorenz[u]ola [d'Arda], 12 October, with the writer and his party then moving on to Parma (ff. 1 verso-2), Bologna (f. 2 recto-verso), Florence (ff. 3 verso-5 verso), Terni (ff. 7 verso-8), Rome, 5-17 November (ff. 10-11) and Naples (ff. 13 verso), arriving on 23 November. The volume ends with an account of an ascent of Vesuvius on 9 December (ff. 14-16), including a sketch of the mountain (f. 15).
