Correspondence,

(I) Letters from Sir John Moore, and papers, mostly 1788 (V 18/1-13) concerning the military career of John Johnes (d. 1815);. (Ii) Letters, 1833-1853, to John Johnes (d. 1876) from Rev. Samuel Johnes Knight, his wife Anna Maria Johnes Knight, and his daughter, Lady Louisa Shelley. They concern the Hafod effects, the Johnes pedigree, personal matters, and public appointments. Arranged largely chronologically within each group.

Burial grounds

Files of correspondence and other papers relating to the repair and maintenance of burial grounds (including the erection of electricity and telegraph poles, and the laying of water pipes), and their transfer to local authorities and the RB, 1934-1947.

Stipends

Papers relating to stipends, mainly statements showing amounts deducted from stipends, 1940, 1948, 1950-1963.

Episcopal duties

Papers relating to Episcopal duties, including visitations, appointments, parochial matters, the clergy, questionnaires and the Lord Bishop's Synod, [1906]-[1923], 1930, 1933, 1944-1994 and confirmations.

Faculty papers

Faculty papers, including Faculty Advisory Committee papers, a faculty and papers of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, 1945-1990.

Marriages

The group consists of papers relating to marriages, including marriage licences and correspondence regarding marriages, 1823, 1924, 1950, 1954-1997.

Papers relating to clerics

Papers relating to clerics in particular to the ordination, installation and consecration of clerics, appointment to stipendiary curacies, institutions and collations, the appointment of surrogates, licencing of parochial readers, licencing of lay persons for the administration of the elements at the Holy Eucharist, resignations, the enthronement of bishops, appointments to the office of Archdeacon, appointments under the Colonial Clergy Act, together with subscription books and some supporting documents, 1899-1991.
