In 1713 Robert Wynne of Cwm Mein and Garthmeilio married Elizabeth Griffith, daughter of Edward Griffith of Plasnewydd and his wife, Grace (née Maurice). Their son, Robert Wynne, married Mary Roberts of Bryn y neuadd, 1751, and they had four children, one of whom, Jane, became wife to John Wynne Griffith of Garn in 1785. Plasnewydd remained in the hands of the Wynne family until its sale in 1807/8.
