A composite volume containing 'Liber Gestorum Barlaam et Josaphat seivorum Dei . . . ', 'Translatio S. Jacobi [de Compostelia] Apostoli et miracula per eum facta', preceded by the letter of Calistus II, Turpin's 'Chronicle', and prayers and hymns to the Virgin Mary.

It includes prognostications of Erra Pater based on the incidence of New Year's Day; receipts and IOU's; hymns; pence multiplication tables; calligraphic exercises; 'penillion telyn' and other free-metre poetry; memoranda relating to Tyn y Gors tithes; a list of sermon texts; astrological diagrams and prognostications based on the phases of the moon and the incidence of thunder ('llywodraieth y lleaud ar gorph dyn ag anifail yn ol ei simudiad trwyr Deuddeng arwudd ynghyd ar nodau' and 'wrth anser [sic] y digwyddo Tranau'); 'englynion' addressed to Peter Roberts; land tax accounts; etc.

A commonplace book of Cellan, Cardiganshire provenance, containing sermon notes, household and weaving accounts, 1819-24, hymns, 'englynion', medical recipes, Welsh proverbs, etc. The volume was begun in 1791 by Thomas Griffiths, Tynycoed, Cellan.

The file comprises hymns, 1893-1912, composed or translated by the Rev. Rees Jenkin Jones, of which a number appeared in Yr Ymofynydd.

A notebook of Jane Hughes, 1830, containing a sermon by Daniel Rowland, 'gynt gweinidog yr efengil yn Llangeitho, a chaplan Duc o Leinster'; hymns; and an account [?by Jane Hughes] of her conversion to Wesleyan Methodism in 1815, with references to religious meetings at Maentwrog, Corwen, Penrhyn[deudraeth], etc., and to the writer's sister Elin Angel.

A commonplace book kept by Owen containing hymns, 'englynion' and other poems, specimens of different types of handwriting, and miscellaneous transcripts and notes.

A manuscript in the hand of Samuel Williams (c. 1660 - c. 1722), vicar of Llandyfriog, Cardiganshire, containing forty-four sermons translated from or based on several authors e.g. [Simon] Patrick [successively bishop of Chichester and of Ely], [Nicholas] Brady [the elder], [Thomas] Adams, [Friedrich] Spanheim, [George] Smalridge [bishop of Bristol], [Theophilus] Dorrington, Cl[ement] Ellis, [Robert] Bragge [dissenting minister], etc. There is a list of contents at the beginning of the volume, and hymns ('Myfi yw'r Adgyfodiad mawr...', etc.) and metrical psalms by [Edmwnd Prys and] William Middleton have been written on the fly-leaves and in blank spaces at the end of some of the sermons. There are some additions, among them the Lord's Prayer, in the hand of the scribe's son, Moses Williams (1685-1742), vicar of Defynnog. Entries on the back of one of the original covers, also in the hand of Moses Williams, indicate that some of the sermons were preached at Dyvynog [Defynnog] and Cap[el] Ill[t]ud during the years 1728-30.

The tune book of John Lewis, 1857, containing hymn-tunes and anthems copied from several English and Welsh printed sources and from unpublished manuscripts, e.g. the tune 'Bryncleifion', which was awarded a prize at the Mallwyd Music Competition, 1857, from the original manuscript by the author, D[avid] Jones ('Dewi Wyllt'), Mallwyd, and tunes from a manuscript in the possession of William Pugh, Rhydgaled Isaf, Harlech, 1817, 'Llyfr Robert Jones, Ffridd, Harlech, 1848', 'Llyfr John Owen, Glanymor, Harlech', 'MSS. Thomas Jenkins, Corn, Llanychaiarn, 1881'; with notes on authorship and sources by David Lewis. The following note is written at the head of the copy of the anthem 'Dyn a aned o wraig': 'Sef anthem a gyfansoddwyd ar yr achlysur o farwolaeth R. R. Parry, Frondeg, gan Robert Davies (Asaph Llechid) yr hwn a laddwyd yn chwarel Cae-braich-y-cafn, dydd Sadwrn, Awst 28, 1858. A chanwyd yr anthem yn angladd yr Awdwr'.

The tune book of David John Lewis, otherwise David Jones, Tymawr, Llanrhystyd, 1777, containing psalm-tunes and hymn-tunes from various sources, including works by John Jeffreys and David Hughes ['Cristiolus Môn']; a few hymns; and farming accounts and memoranda by David Jones, 1785-1819. David John Lewis was grandfather to David Lewis's mother.

The tunes are mostly anonymous but there are items ascribed to the Reverend J[ohn] D[avid] Edwards, John Ashton, Trefeglwys, W[illiam] Owen [Prysgol], J[oseph] D[avid] Jones, 1851, and D. P. Price, Cazenovia.
