The collection comprises photocopies of letters, 1748-1872, in the custody of the Methodist Archives and Research Centre, London; notebooks containing transcripts of documents and research notes taken from Methodist publications, NLW manuscripts and other sources in the custody of the National Library of Wales; photocopies of other sources; letters, 1929-1991, to A. H. Williams from scholars and researchers discussing mainly various aspects of Welsh Wesleyan Methodist history; and copies od related articles, addresses, press cuttings etc.; typescripts of books and articles written by A. H. Williams and other scholars.

Earlier items deposited under 'Amgueddfa'r Hen Gapel', Tre'r ddôl, which were incorporated into the Library's Methodist Archive (WMA), have now also been transferred to this collection (the old WMA reference numbers are given in brackets in the list). The Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Medal which was awarded to A. H. Williams in 1932 was transferred to the former Department of Pictures and Maps (0200012028).
