Arthur Geraint Goodwin, a novelist and short-story writer, was born on 1 May 1903, at Newtown, Powys. He moved to London in 1923 where he worked as a journalist having previously worked as an apprentice on The Montgomeryshire Express. He died in 1941 of tuberculolosis and in 2010 The Geraint Goodwin Society was formed.
