Gift by Roger Cole to Margam Abbey, with consent of his lord Margan [ap Caradoc], etc., of his free tmt at Castellum novum, or Newcastle, having on the west the stream called Hellenewellelache, and reaching eastward towards Witheréll, but not quite so far ('sed non pertingit illuc'); on the north it has the bounds of Coitkart, on the south begins the cultivated land which goes down against the highway of Newcastle. Under seal of his lord Margan. The Abbot gives one besant in recognisance of the gift.
