The Garnons family lived at Pant Du, Llanllyfni, Carnarfonshire, though the family hailed from Pembrokeshire. John Garnons of Pant Du (b. 1704) a Caernarfon attorney and Deputy Prothonotary of the North Wales circuit of the Court of Great Sessions, married Jane, daughter of Griffith Robert of Rhiwgoch, Trawsfynydd, Merioneth, which was held by lease from the Wynnstay estate. John Garnons was still living in Rhiwgoch in 1782.
