A fair copy duplicate of the proceedings recorded in no. 1728, with the proceedings of one additional Court of View of Frank Pledge, 24 April 1714. The lord is Henry, Duke of Beaufort, and James Smith, esq., chief steward. In this court the defaulters of suit and service are arranged under the following sub heads: New Church East End, New Church West End, Mathern, Penhow, Itton, Kemish inferior, St Arvans, Lanvaches, and Hardwich & Mounton. At the same Court constables were appointed for New Church East End, Mathern, Lanvaches, Hardwick & Mounton, Penhow, New Church West End, Portscuet, and Itton. This vol. contains in addition proceedings of the following Views of Frank Pledge for the following manors:. Tidenham, seventeen courts, 20 Sept. 1712-3 May 1720. A fair copy duplicate, written from no. 1728 containing the same information on the proceedings of the 4 Views of Frankpledge, together with the proceedings of 13 additional courts (making 17 Courts in all), all of them Views of Frankpledge. Henry Duke of Beaufort is described as lord of the first and last, the Hon. James Bertie, esq., Doddington Grevile, esq., and Francis Clerke esq., trustees of Henry Duke of Beaufort, as lords of the second court, the first two named only as trustees as lords of the other courts. Of the first court James Smith, esq., is steward, of the second Thomas Fry is his under-steward, and of the remaining eleven courts John Burgh, esq., is chief steward. Wollaston, 3 Oct. 1712-4 May 1720. A fair copy duplicate, written from no. 1728 containing the same information of the proceedings of the 3 Views of Frankpledge together with the proceedings of 11 additional courts (making 14 Courts in all), all these views of Frankpledge. Henry Duke of Beaufort is described as lord of the first and the last two courts. Of the second Court the Hon. James Bertie, esq., Doddington Grevile, esq., and Francis Clerke, esq., trustees of Henry Duke of Beaufort, and of the next two courts the first two named only as trustees are described as lords. Of the first Court James Smith, esq., is steward, of the second Court Thomas Fry as his under-steward, and of the remaining nine courts John Burgh, esq., is chief steward, with Lancelot Strother as his deputy on 30 April, 1718.
