Scope and content
The manuscript consists of extracts mostly prefixed by the reference 'Cro.3' or 'Cro.2'. Sir George Croke (1560-1642) wrote his reports in Norman-French. They were published in English by his son-in-law, Sir Harbottle Grimston, between 1657 and 1661. A few extracts are described as from Mores Reports. Sir Francis Moore (1558-1621) made a collection of Reports which were published in 1663. This manuscript is described and dated thus: 'E Manuscripts Guil: Williams 13 Car. 2. An Dom. 1661', apparently in the same hand as the text. As the reference to Moore's Reports do not occur until the end of the manuscript it is not necessary to search for a manuscript origin for them.
