Original bundle of deeds relating to properties in the parishes of Brelston, Goodrich, Hentland, Marstow, Peterstow and Welsh Bicknor, all Herefordshire, and in the parish of Llandenni, Monmouthshire, including the marriage settlement of Thomas Philpott, shoemaker, and Elizabeth Dubberly, spinster, both of the town of Ross, Herefordshire, 1712 (no. 72), and probate of the will of John Chest of Dafferluke in the parish of Hentland, gent., 1718 (no. 92).

Original arrangement according to a series of roughly contemporaneous numbers in red ink, 68, 69 (x2), 70-100. The present bundle probably represents elements of a number of earlier bundles that have been merged, as many of the deeds have been numbered two or three times. The numbers 68-100 represent the final numbering, as they put the deeds into chronological order. There are, however, a number of mistakes in interpreting Old Style dates, including no's 74-76 (1 and 2 Feb. 1713, 2 Anne), which have been filed under 1713 NS rather than 1714 OS.
