Scope and content
These papers are Applications for Exemption and Notices of Appeal, together with associated correspondence, 1916-1918. The Tribunal was divided into districts as seen below. Each district has a register, found at the end of each bundle of cases, which acts as an index to the papers. The register gives details of name, address and occupation of each appellant, the reason for the appeal and the decision reached. It must be consulted to identify individual appeals. Each case number is noted in red ink in the register. A matching red number can then be found in the top right hand corner of the relevant papers in the appropriate file. However, it should be noted that the red reference numbers may not necessarily be found on the first page of an individual case. When ordering items, each district's register can be requested separately.
