Biographical history

Bert Pearce was a supporter of the Parliament for Wales Campaign since returning to Wales in 1960. He drafted evidence on a Parliament for Wales which was submitted to the Kilbrandon Commission in 1970. He helped organise the campaign for the Yes Vote in the 1979 referendum. In 1987 he was one of the Five in Action Group which initiated the foundation of the Campaign for a Welsh Assembly, and was active on the Campaign's National Council since its foundation conference in Merthyr, 1988.
