Collections Relative to Wales, II', being a companion volume to, and a continuation of, NLW MS 6209E, which is also a composite manuscript (sections numbered I-XIII) bound in a similar manner and lettered on the spine 'MSS. It appears that the two volumes originally formed one folio manuscript belonging to Edward Lhuyd made up of transcripts by his assistants, contributions by Henry Rowlands and Hugh Thomas, and fragments of earlier manuscripts (see pp. 14-15 of NLW MS 13918F, 'Catalogue of Welsh M.S.S. in Beechwood Library by the Reverend Mr John Jones [?1746-1827] M.A. Fellow of Jesus College Oxon, 1781', i.e. part of the Sebright collection. Heraldic pedigree roll, [c. 1628], of the Myddelton family of Plas Cadwgan, parish of Esclusham Below, Denbighshire (see W. D. Pink, Notes on the Middleton Family, of Denbighshire & London ([s.l.], 1891), pp. 10-11, and A. N. Palmer, History of the Thirteen Country Townships of the Old Parish of Wrexham (Wrexham, 1903), pp. 12-14).
The pedigree represents the descent of the family from Cunedda Wledig and Bleddyn ap Cynfyn to the children of Captain Roger Myddelton (d. 1642), three of whose sons are described as 'now livinge 1628', and contains some sixty painted coats of arms. It was probably compiled by Jacob Chaloner; further entries, including one dated 1654, were added, mid-seventeenth century, in a current hand to complete damaged portions of text. A shield or achievement at the bottom of the roll is now missing, with only the top part of the crest remaining.

Pedigree and achievement, 1584, of Gawen Goodman of Ruthin, compiled by Simwnt Fychan and drawn by Richard Thomlyns of Denbigh, with eighty-eight other coats of arms, nearly all fully painted.
The pedigree shows Goodman's descent, through the female line, from twenty-five prominent ancestors, mostly Welsh, represented by twenty-five shields in two rows at the top of the pedigree; the arms of royal houses are surmounted by gold crowns. The remaining sixty-three coats of arms, the majority of which are impaled, are scattered throughout the pedigree. Personal names are enclosed in roundels. The pedigree includes Gawen's younger brother Gabriel (Dean of Westminster, 1561-1601) and other siblings, as well as Gawen's children and those of his other brother Godfrey. The achievement is placed at the lower right-hand base.

Denbigh, esq., traced from Ynyr ap Cadfarch, Gwaithfoed of Ceredigion, Gruffudd ap Cynan and Maredudd ap Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, with fifty-three other coats of arms, all painted, compiled in 1602 by Rhys Cain of Oswestry, with additions probably in a later seventeenth-century hand. Pedigree roll, dated 10 March 1664, with additions to 1672, recording the genealogy of the family of Puleston (or Pyvelesdon) of Puleston, Shropshire, and their descendants the Pulestons of Emral, Flintshire, and of Havod-y-Wern, Allington and Bersham, all in Denbighshire. It was transcribed by John Salusbury of Erbistock from the books of Robert Davies of Gwysaney, Edward Puleston of Allington, and Owen Salusbury of Rhug.
The pedigree is traced from 'Sr Richard Pyvelesdon de Pyvelesdon' (fl. 12-13 cents) and contains no heraldry.

A copy, in three volumes, of the history of the Welsh side of the donor's family, and that of his late wife, Rosemary, who hailed from Devon, the results of research undertaken between 1979 and 2001, entitled 'The Mattabel Inheritance'.
