Yr oedd Cassie Davies yn addysgydd a chenedlaetholwraig. Fe'i ganwyd ym Nghae Tudur, Blaencaron, ger Tregaron, ar 20 Mawrth 1898. Astudiodd Saesneg yng Ngholeg Prifysgol Cymru, Aberystwyth, a phenderfynodd wneud gradd uwch mewn Cymraeg. Bu'n darlithio yng Ngholeg y Barri, 1923-1938, ac yn 1938 fe'i penodwyd hi yn Arolygydd Ysgolion, gyda gofal arbennig dros y Gymraeg. Ymddeolodd yn 1958. Yr oedd yn llais cyfarwydd hefyd ar y radio. Bu farw 17 Ebrill 1988.
