Biographical history

The first party congress was held in July 1920 in London. The Congress was mostly held in London, as were the congresses described in this group. The Congress met irregularly, every one or two years, except during the Second World War when they met less often. A list of congress dates and venues is available as an appendix to Henry Pelling, The British Communist Party: A Historical Profile(London, 1975).
