Glyn Lewis was born in 1917, the son of Thomas John and Gwladys Lewis (née Evans) and brother of Alun Lewis.

Born in Merthyr Tydfil, Morgan Glyndwr Jones, generally known as Glyn Jones, was a novelist, poet and literary historian and an important figure in Anglo-Welsh literature.

Thomas (Tom) J. Lewis was born in Cwmaman, the son of Job and Mary Lewis. He married Gwladys (née Evans) in 1914 and was the father of Alun Lewis. He was a schoolteacher in Aberdare and rose to be director of education for Aberdare.
