Scope and content
A volume, written in two eighteenth-century hands and one nineteenth-century hand, containing transcripts of statutes and injunctions relating to Hereford Cathedral and its associated establishments, made and given by Edward VI, Elizabeth I and Charles I.
The transcripts include 'Consuetudines et Statuta Herefordensis Ecclesiae', [16 cent., first ½] (ff. 1-19); injunctions issued by Edward VI, 1547 (ff. 21-23 verso), and [Richard Pates], Bishop of Worcester, 1556 (ff. 24-26); 'Injunctiones sive Statuta Eccl[es]iae Cathedralis Hereford:...', 1583 (ff. 27-51 verso); 'Carolus Rex... Statuta Ecclesiae Cathedralis Herefordensis...', 1637 (ff. 65-86, 90 verso-93 verso); injunctions relating to St Ethelbert's Hospital, Hereford (ff. 102-106); and 'Injunctions or Statutes which... regard the Vicars Choral, Ministers, and others…', dated 1820 and 1871 (ff. 117 verso-120 verso).
