They include correspondence and papers relating to the attempts to unite Y Coleg Coffa and Coleg Bala-Bangor at Aberystwyth between 1981 and 1989. They also include the College's annual reports and accounts, financial papers, papers deriving from the proceedings of the committee set up to decide the location of a united college, and statistics relating to the attendance at the colleges. The correspondents include Elfed ap Nefydd Roberts, 1983, Dewi Eirug Davies, 1985, Gwynfor Evans (8), 1984-1989, and Derwyn Morris Jones (2), 1984-1989.

The material is largely of Congregational or Welsh literary/historical interest and includes sermons and sermon notes; volumes of hymn-tunes and material relating to Welsh hymn-writers (including Ann Griffiths) and their work; lecture notes and essays; tour journals, [1889]-1906, of David Morgan Lewis; and an album mainly of Congregational interest compiled by John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro').

Papers of the Rev. E. Tawe Jones (b.1890), comprising exercise books containing sermons and sermon notes, 1917-1969; school and college notebooks, 1907-1909; miscellaneous notebooks containing Biblical commentary, lists of baptisms, marriages and burials, etc., 1905-1964; loose notes and press cuttings, 1919-1969; and papers acquired by him, consisting of notebooks of sermons by Rev. Cowper Temple; and others; and copies of correspondence between Mrs. Catherine Anne Cobden, Thos. Thomasson, Henry Richard, and others; and holograph letters to Henry Richard from John Morley, Viscount Morley of Blackburn, 1878 (the writer's proposed biography of Richard Cobden; A. J. Mundella, 1882; J[ohn] Thomas, Congregational minister, Liverpool, 1887 (Samuel Morley's contribution to Congregational and other causes in Wales, the writer's proposed biography of the Reverend Thomas Rees, Swansea); and others. Bound with the letters is an offprint of an article by the donor, the Reverend H. R. Evans, M.C., M.A., on 'Henry Richard and Cobden's Letters', published in The Transactions of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, 1958, pp. 54-81.
