Papers relating to the sale and lease by Captain Robert William Herbert Watkin Williams Wynn of land belonging to the Plas yn Cefn estate at Colwyn Bay and Llysfaen, Caernarfonshire, for building purposes and road construction, 1891-1921. The building sites are specified as the Cefn estate, Meriadog Road, Cadwgan Road, Llanelian Road, Wellington Road, Peulwys Road, Wyndcliffe in Abergele Road, Bodelwyddan Avenue, Berthglyd Road, Coed Coch Road, and Dr Leeming’s garage adjoining Mohrcroft garden. The builders were Robert Evans of Old Colwyn and Fred J. Tucker of Colwyn Bay. Purchasers and lessees include Old Colwyn Golf Club, David Ed. Evans, Black’s Advertising Agency and Conwy Rural District Council (easements for water supply). The documents include a charge for securing moneys advanced to the builder, 1891; building and loan accounts, 1900-1912; formal agreements, 1905-1912; specifications of properties, 1908-1910; letters to the land agent, Douglas MacNicoll, which include a proposal for the construction of a school, 1910-1914; notice to Robert Evans of rescission of contract, 1911; an insurance policy for the golf house, 1912; a list and plan of owners in Wellington Road; a valuation of land at Llannerch Road West, 1916; an agreement for a garden near Carlton; and plans of a portion of the Cefn building estate, and of some individual properties.
