Administrative history

Trinity Church, Clydach was formed in 1917 as a Forward Movement Centre. For the first four years its meetings were held at the Public Hall, Clydach. Then, in 1921, the church was housed in a military hut obtained from Aldershot and erected on a site bordered by three roads. However, owing to the increase in traffic by the late 1930s, it became evident, as the building deteriorated, that a new location and building was needed. A site was eventually found in a central location. The opening ceremony of the new chapel, known as Trinity Forward Movement Church, Sybil Street, Clydach, took place on 21 February 1940.
