The estate of the Brock family in Carmarthenshire, which belonged to William Jones, was inherited by his grandson, Benjamin Brock, the second son of Benjamin Brock [the elder], of Brecon and Eliza Jones, his wife, on condition that he took the additional surname of Jones. The estate passed to his son, George Brock Jones, who was for some time employed at the British Consulate in Chicago.
