The English and Welsh Congregational Church in Borth, Cardiganshire, was founded in 1867. it would appear that by the end of the 19th century, Borth and Clarach Congregational causes had merged, and that at Bow Street shared the minister although retaining its sperarte identity. The Rev. Joseph Llewelyn was minister of Clarach, Borth and Bow Street Congregational Churches from 1887 until 1927.
Archival history
Immediate source of acquisition or transfer
Described in the catalogue as "Re-deposited by R. P. Llewelyn in 1967". It appears that the material was initially deposited at the National Library of Wales in 1954 and 1962, and was at a later date withdrawn by the depositor, and then re-deposited in 1967, with the addition of then-recent correspondence. A further deposit was received from Professor Emeritus J. D. Hayes, Borth, December 2009 and April 2011.

Records relating to the Congregational churches at Borth, Bow Street and Clarach, Cardiganshire, mainly financial records, including balance sheets, 1877-1888; register of members and their monthly contributions, 1892-1909; correspondence relating to trustees,1880-1966; and histories of the Congregational cause in Borth, [n. d.] and 1967. Further records were received in December 2009 and April 2011. These remain uncatalogued.
