The volume is illustrated by over thirty watercolour drawings and unfinished pencil sketches by Rose Sotheby, some of them being original drawings by her and others being after [?]William Sawrey Gilpin (1761/2-1843), Samuel Hieronymus Grimm (bap. 1733, d. 1794) and [?]John Smith (1749-1831). One original watercolour drawing, dated 1809, is by Maria E. Sotheby.
