Bargain And Sale by way of mortgage, by William Powell of Lanpill, esq., son and heir of David Philip Powell, lately deceased, to Mathewe Smyth of the Middle Temple of London, esq., for £440, of the manor of Brynnedehirock, with all rights, members and appurtenances, and all lands and tenements etc., liberties, franchises and privileges belonging, with all lands, tenements, etc., in the several parishes of Christchurche and St Arvans which David Powell had at the time of his decease or whereof William Powell was seised, of the clear yearly value of £20 above all yearly charges and reprises. Covenant for repayment of £440 on 22 April 1577 between 1 and 4 p.m. at the dwelling house of Mathewe Smyth, in Redd Crosse Streate without Creple gate, London. Endorsed: enrolled on Close Roll of Chancery, 27 April 1576.
