1 Matthew Lamb of Lincolns Inn, Middlesex, esq., sole executor of the will of Peniston Lamb, late of Lincolns Inn, esq., dec. 2 Wilbraham Tufton, brother of Sackville, earl of Thanet, and administrator of the goods and chattels of John Tufton, esq., his late brother, dec. 3 Thomas Coke, earl of Leicester in trust to attend the inheritance. 4 Thomas Anson of Shugborough, Staffordshire. 5 Philip Stephens of p. St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, esq. (trustee of 4). Assignment Of A Term Of Years in trust to attend the inheritance by 3 to 5, with the consent of 1 and 2, in trust for 4, of man. Knightly, otherwise Knightley, and other m's, farms, etc., in the t's, p's etc., of Knightly, otherwise Knightley, Gnosall, Chatwall, Winnington, Muckleston, Knighton, Knighton Juxta Adbaston and Hill, otherwise Hill House, all in Staffordshire. Consideration: £14,000 paid by 4 to 2 with the consent of 3 and 1, and £1,000 paid by 4 to 3 with the consent of 1. Recites a mortgage by demise for 1,000 years for £15,000 (5%), dated 7 April 1720, by 3, then known as Thomas Coke of Holkham, Norfolk, esq., and the said Peniston Lamb, of the same premises, and further advances of £4,000 and £6,000 (both 5%) charged on the same premises by endorsements on the said mortgage, dated 24 June 1720 and 10 Jan. 1720, an assignment of the term of years, dated 11 June 1725, by the said Peniston Lamb to 2 (excepting certain parcels of land in Somerset), in trust, a mortgage by demise for 1,000 years for £34,000 (41/2%), dated 12 June 1725, between 3, 2, and the said John Tufton and Peniston Lamb, of the same premises, reciting that all interest and £5,000 had been paid off, reducing the principal money to £20,000, and that John Tufton had agreed to advance £14,000, that 4 has agreed with 3, with the consent of 1 and 2, for the absolute purchase of the premises for £15,000, that the sum of £20,000 shall remain charged on the premises assigned in the last recited indenture [?the Somerset lands], and that man. Knightley and the other premises shall be discharged.
