Edward Blackeway, late of the town of Shrewsbury, clerk, dec. 2 Rev. Joseph Corbett of Longnor, Shropshire, archdeacon of Shropshire, sole executor of the will of Robert Corbett, late of Longnor, esq., dec. 3 Panton Corbett of Longnor, esq. 4 Maurice Jones of Leighton, Shropshire, gent., John Skill of Longnor, Shropshire, yeoman. 5 William Coupland of the town of Shrewsbury, esq. Assignment Of Mortgage of the manor of Leighton, together with the Hall of Leighton, the demesne lands and all m's in p's Hope, Forden, Pool, Guilsfield, and t. Cletterwood [p. Buttington] to secure the several sums of £1,200, £200, and £600 plus interest. Recites that Sir Richard Corbett of Longnor, bart, mortgaged (2 Sept 1747) the property to Sir Hugh Brigges of Houghton, p. Idsall, Shropshire, bart, to secure £1,200 + interest, and further mortgaged (24 Feb. 1749/50) to secure £200 and £600.
