1 John George Parker of Upper Tulse Hill, co. Surrey, gent. 2 Montague David Scott of Landsdown Place, Hove, co. Sussex, esq. Assignment Of Mortgage By Demise for the residue of two terms of years for £3000 (7%) of minerals and leasehold premises described in no. 267 and in another recited lease of 1 Jan. 1861. Recites no. 267; a lease of 1 Jan 1861 from Griffith Llewellyn to Edward Thomas, Samuel Thomas, Edward Thomas the younger and Richard Thomas of minerals on the south side of Lower Cockshot Rock discovered on or under named lands shown on the map attached to no. 267, subject to an earlier lease of 12 Oct. 1860; that the lessees brought machinery and plant for extracting minerals; a mortgage (demise for the residues of years remaining on the two leases) for £3500 and interest dated 6 Jan. 1863; that default was made in payment of the principal sum and interest; an assignment of mortgage by demise to 1 for £8200, dated 10 April 1866; that 1 has erected further plant upon the premises now known as Baglan Hall Collieries; that 1 has entered into a contract for taking on a lease for 60 years of mines and minerals on the Briton Ferry Estate, but no lease has yet been granted to him; that 2 has agreed to advance him £3000 upon having repayment secured on the leasehold lands.
